Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Blush My Lips – Review & Swatches!

While we all love high end lipsticks, not everyone (including me) can always afford them. And so we look for affordable ones that are just as great!

If you are looking for an inexpensive and quality lipstick, this might be the one for you.

Capture1

Blush My Lips is a bright fuchsia shade, with warm undertone. It is really bright, enough to give your face a pop of color and is perfect for summer.

The color is vibrant and the texture is very creamy. It has an excellent color pay off even just in one swipe. It is very moisturizing and glides smoothly without setting on my lip lines.

Overall

I’ve been reading reviews about this product before I decided to try it and it was worth it!

It is a light champagne color that can suit most complexions and give them the perfect hint of glow. The pigmentation is stunning, it is so pigmented that you only need a tiny bit of product. The texture is very smooth and finely milled, no chunky shimmers or glitters at all.

I also love the packaging! (of all the products from TheBalm Cosmetics actually) And you get a really good amount of product that I’m pretty sure would take years to finish and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

It wears well throughout the day even on my extremely oily skin and it didn’t break me out either.

It may be more on the expensive side but considering the quality and quantity you’re getting, it’s definitely a steal! 10/10

Overall

I love this blush so much!

Guava is a coral pink color that is a great everyday blush. Would suit lot of skin tones.

This is extremely pigmented. I mean really, a little goes a long way. Always tap off the excess and use a light hand.

It’s long lasting and wears off nicely. Also very blendable and soft to touch. This is kinda powdery when swatched but not on the cheeks.

It contains a lot of product and is very affordable. Also, cruelty free! ❤️

My Skincare Routine – Oily Skin

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I’ve been struggling with acne since I was 13 years old. I had no idea about the importance of skincare routine. I wish I knew better back then.

I believe that skincare should be simple and realistic. I’ve seen skincare videos where they put A LOT (it was 11) of products on their face, it’s too much to be honest. Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That!

I want to share what worked for me and hope it could help even a little.

1 – Cleanser (Morning & Evening)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

No matter what your skin type is, you should always use a gentle cleanser. Don’t use any harsh facial wash or facial scrub. It will only dry your skin and make your oil glands on firrrreeee!

2 – Toner (Morning & Evening)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I use this immediately after the first step to make sure that my face is thoroughly clean. I found that this helps the absorption of the next products. You can use whatever works for you the best, just try to use alcohol-free toners.

For me, this is necessary if you wear makeup. But if you don’t, you can skip this.

3 – Moisturizer (Morning & Evening)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I have extremely oily skin, and I still use a moisturizer. And I recommend you do too! This is important, do not skip.

There are loads of moisturizer products out there, choose whatever works for you the best. And be careful not to over-moisturize.

4 – Acne Treatment (Evening only)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

If you have acne like I do, I would totally recommend you this one! This is the only product that worked for my skin. It may take weeks to see improvement but this is totally worth it.

5 – Sunscreen (Morning only)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Since I live in a tropical country, I use this everyday.  My acne treatment also makes my face very sensitive to sunlight and more prone to sunburn. Don’t skip!

Additional :

Exfoliating Scrubs (One or Twice a Week)

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I use this twice a week in place of my daily cleanser. And make sure that it’s not too harsh on the skin. This is essential to remove dead skin cells which can clog up your pores.

Be gentle when using this, don’t scrub too hard!

And that’s it! Always remember to stick to your routine. And never sleep with your makeup on.

Colourpop Lippiestix in Lumiere – Review and Swatches!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I have been wanting to try ColourPop’s Lippie Stix for so long! Colourpop is a cruelty free brand and all of their products are made in US. It’s a new indie makeup brand that made a really good impression for their quality.

Lumiere (matte) – A dusty mauve pink in a matte finish created by the lovely @KathleenLights – “I wanted a color that both bold and shy people could wear. It’s not a nude..it would look great on EVERYONE!”

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This was taken under natural daylight and it looks pink in these photos but it’s definitely more like a mauve-y in real life.

Overall

The color is really pigmented and can be opaque with one or two swipes of product. I was worried that this color will be too light or too mauve for my skin but it looks fine.

It is very easy to apply but feels a little waxy at first but goes away after it dries. They last about 4-5 hours on me before I need to reapply because it settles on my lip lines. It also has a vanilla scent kinda similar to MAC lipsticks. It’s also cruelty free so that’s a plus.

If you’re into the Kylie Jenner lip trend, this may be the one for you!  However it may appear ‘grayish’ on some skintones and it’s not a universally flattering shade.

Overall, this Lippiestix line is definitely worth checking out. Affordable, great quality and amazing pigmentation. 🙂

Coconut Oil – Most Used Product and Holy Grail!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I am obsessed with coconut oil, it’s an amazing overall product!

So today I thought I would share 5 uses of coconut oil which I personally love.

1 – For hair

This is the only thing that helped my damaged hair and prevented split ends. I just rub few drops through my hair ends after every bath and use it as a hair mask every 2 weeks.

If you have brittle or damaged hair prone to split ends, this is a life saver!

2 – For skin

I just put a very little amount on the skin before I go to bed and let it sink it overnight. It works as an all-natural moisturizer. Be careful on the amount because you really don’t need much or you’ll end up an oily mess.

3 – For nails

I just use few drops on my nails and massage it like a regular cuticle coat. I do that every night before bed to strengthen, condition and seal the moisture on my nails.

With regular use, this has helped my brittle and short nails improve dramatically.

4 – For removing makeup

This is one of my favorite use of coconut oil, it is really effective in removing even the most stubborn waterproof makeup I have on. I just use a cotton ball and massage it in circular motions.

I would always choose this over any makeup remover since it’s completely natural and I know that doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals that can irritate my skin. This doesn’t break me out either.

5 – For shaving

I use this every single time I shave. I just slather the oil all over my legs and shave. I found that it is more effective than my other shaving creams in preventing irritation and razor burn. It also moisturized my legs and made it really smooth.

So I say ditch the shaving gels/creams and switch to this. Great for skin & it’s waaay cheaper.

These are only few from hundreds of uses of coconut oil. If you haven’t tried this one yet, I recommend you do!

Fitness Journey – Week 1 (Goals, Workout, Diet)

Today’s the day I finally decided to change myself for the better, again.

1 – Fitness Goals

This is very important. Figuring out your overall fitness goal is the first step to know what workout or diet will work best for you. Having an image set in your mind will help you get motivated to reach your goal.

Remember, always start with a small goal and achieve it. After that, try to challenge yourself by trying a bigger goal. Don’t start by going on a major diet, by running everyday or by working out too much too soon. I’m sure you’ll overexert yourself out and get discouraged.

Be realistic with your goals. Small changes can make a big difference if you stick with it!

My overall goal right now is to achieve that body again in the photo above. I gained 6 kg and lost all my gains so I’m sure it’s not gonna be easy.

2 – Workout

I’m still not planning on going to the gym this month . I would start first by doing cardio since I stopped doing any exercise few months ago.

My small workout goal right now is to just run for 20 minutes everyday. That’s all. I just want to slowly build up my stamina and avoid fatigue.

3 – Diet

Start by making one healthy choice at time. Drink water instead of soda, eat homemade food instead of fast food, choose fruits instead of sugar-y treats. That is all you need at the start.

But personally, I don’t restrict my diet. I eat what I want but in moderation. I like to keep my eating habits simple, I eat when I’m hungry and stop when I think I’m full.

All of this may sound simple or easy for others, but not for me. Because I’m the type without any self control when it comes to food.

I will do an update every few weeks or months. No more excuses. It will pay off.

L’oreal True Match Foundation in w4 – (Before and After)

I was looking to replace my foundation when I saw a review about this True Match line. I wanted a lightweight foundation with decent coverage and this one seems to be ‘the one’. There are mixed reviews, I think half loved it and the other half didn’t. But the good reviews convinced me to give it a try!

I’ve had this foundation for almost 2 weeks now to atleast give a proper review of what I liked or didn’t liked about this product.

While L’oreal claims that this is for all skin types, this might not work for extremely oily skin. I, myself have very oily skin so I blot my face every 4 hours when using this.  If you have dry to normal skin or just a little oily, this foundation will be perfect for you!

I love the fact that it has true warm undertones and the wide color selection of 33 shades is amazing. You could definitely find your perfect match. It oxidized on my skin a little but not really noticeable.

It costs Php 899 here which is almost twice the US price. I suggest you just preorder or buy on your trusted online shops.

Product Claims:

With patented color technology, True Match™ Makeup precisely matches your skin’s tone and texture and coordinates perfectly with True Match™ Powder, Blush, and Concealer. Formulated with Precise Match™ Technology so you can control coverage and fine-tune it. Ultra-pure formula contains no oils, fragrances, or pore-clogging fillers, so all you see is beautiful, radiant, flawless skin. With Vitamins A and C, wheat germ and grape fruit extract to keep your skin nourished, protected and healthy.

Available in 33 skin-true shades.

Overall

This foundation has medium coverage and satin finish. I think the coverage is very good especially since this has a very thin formulation.

I apply it using my expert face brush and it is ‘super-blendable’ indeed! It doesn’t set on the face too quickly which is great. It has a runny consistency so be careful when pouring the product. A little goes a long waaay.

As you can see in the photos, it evened out my skin tone and covered minor blemishes & mild redness. It also has a very natural finish.

Since I have extremely oily skin, I always set this with powder. I really suggest you do even though you’re not oily because it doesn’t fully dry and it transfers.

PROS. Lightweight, easy to blend, SPF17, medium buildable coverage, wide color selection, natural finish, decent staying power and doesn’t break me out.

CONS. No oil control, not for extremely oily skin, very watery formula, and the packaging (no pump).

Overall, I’m happy with this foundation. 🙂
